University education a must for human resources: MoET
Ha Noi — The government plans to raise the ratio of university students in Viet Nam to 200 students for every 10,000 people by 2010, as from 167 in 2006, according to Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan. To reach the target, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) recently launched a series of measures to be implemented during the next four years (2007-2010). Minister Nhan said in this context, the Ministry has asked the prime minister and concerned agencies to raise the retirement age for professors, associate-professors and doctors to 65 years against the usual age of 60 for men and 55 for women, as stipulated in the Labour Code.
